| These
forums are for persons who have attended our classes. If you have attended a
class, you should already be pre-registered on the appropriate
forum with the password provided at class or by mail. You
will be able to create your own password after signing
on. If you have problems logging in, please contact
us. The forums are set up as most Internet-based
bulletin boards are, but if you are unfamiliar with how these
normally operate, we have provided a brief tutorial
below. |

Tutorial
|
| The
first thing you will see when clicking on the above links is a
login screen. It will look like this:
|
|
|
| Simply
enter your username and password and click "Log
in". If you click the box labeled "Log me on
automatically each visit", the forum will remember who
you are every time you visit, so you don't have to enter your
username and password every time. If you forget your
password, you can click on "I forgot my password"
below and it will ask you for your username and email address,
and then automatically
email your password to you, if the information matches what is
in the database.
|
| Once
logged in, you will find yourself in the forum. The
screen will look similar to this:
|
|
|
|
From here you can either post a new
topic or read an existing topic. To post a new topic,
simply click on the new topic button at the top or bottom of the
list of current topics. To read a topic, click on the
subject line listed under the heading "Topics" (like
"Test thread #1" in the picture above). When you
go to read a topic the resulting screen will look similar to
this:
|
|
|
|
From here, you can again post an
entirely new topic by clicking on the "new topic"
button, or post a reply to the current topic by clicking on the
"post reply" button. Posting a reply will add
your input to the bottom of the list of already posted
replies. When clicking on either the "new topic"
or "post reply" buttons, you will be looking at a
screen similar to this one:
|
|
|
|
Here, you just type in your subject
(optional when posting a reply), and your message content.
You can use the "B", "i", and
"u" to add bold, italics, and underlining
(respectively) to your message. For more information on
how these buttons work, you click on "BBCode" under
"Options" in the lower left of the window (see
above). You can also click on the Emoticons (or "Smilies")
off to the left, to incorporate those into your post. The
"Preview" button allows you to preview your post
before submission just the way it will appear, and, of course,
the "Submit" button will post your new topic or reply
for everybody else to see and respond to.
|
|
That is a quick run-down of the
basics of the message board. As you might guess, there is
a lot more to it that you will learn along the way. If you
do have a question of how something works, please click on the
"FAQ" link at the top of the forum. Chances are
your question is covered there.
